Zien en horen – Frits van den Bosch

After five years of searching, Optiek Van Den Bosch found the ideal location in the former town hall of Wommelgem. The entire building was completely stripped, leaving only the concrete structure intact, while the exterior facade was given a modern look.

A large skylight running from the front to the back of the store provides ample natural light. The store is spread over two floors, with a central atrium created that has a ceiling height of over 6 meters. On the ground floor, there is a reception area with an accompanying bar and dedicated shop-in-shops for each brand. On the first floor, there are spaces for refraction, hearing care, and offices.

The industrial look is maintained with the use of a steel staircase and high ceilings, while attention to acoustics is ensured through carpeting, ceiling fabric, and wall panels. Large eye-catchers, such as two 6-meter-high trees and a custom ceiling visual (with a nod to Antwerp), create a unique atmosphere. The revamped concept not only offers an impressive interior but also places a strong emphasis on hospitality and customer experience.
